Responsibility:

Design, installation, upgrade and repair various electronic security systems.

Remain up to date with the latest upgrades and equipment.

Maintain system health of a security control room in as far as the following disciplines are concerned:

• Network infrastructure (WAN and LAN).

• CCTV VMS platform and head end equipment.

• Alarm monitoring systems and software.

• End user support.

Work with service providers to ensure system health and uninterrupted services.

Remotely support field technicians when linking services to a security control room.

Pre-commission electronic components before field deployment.

Solution design and verification.

Preform upgrades to systems to increase functionality and usability.

Evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot systems and perform repairs as necessary.

Coordinate with management and stakeholders to complete projects/work orders efficiently.

Maintain and adhere to operational procedures and complete appropriate documentation.

Adhere to compliance standards.

Candidate:

Very strong networking and IT infrastructure skills.

Must have a clear understanding of firewalls and tier 3 switches.

Working knowledge of the OSI model.

Knowledge of CCTV video management systems is essential (Dahua DSS and Hikvision).

Great knowledge of IP cameras, configuration and installation.

Working knowledge of access control systems (SoftCon, Paxton and Impro preferred).

Working knowledge of wireless LAN.

Working knowledge of DSC alarm systems is advantageous.

Proficiency in Visio is advantageous.

Use of networking diagnostic tools.

Must have strong problem-solving skills, as fault finding is done daily.

Must be able to work without supervision.

Loyalty is key in this role.

Strong people skills will be a requirement as you would have to work with different stakeholders.
