Responsibility:

Responsible for the design and implementation of all electronic security solutions, the successful candidate will assess, design, implement, supervise and plan security system installations, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and safety tasks.

The security systems include access control systems, alarm systems, CCTV (IP and analogue), booms, PIDS, electric fence and other electronic security systems together with their IT components. Duties:

• Responsible for the design of all electronic security solutions (CCTV and access control).

• Accountable for effectively managing all technical projects, from initial site assessment to commissioning/handover of the project.

• Accountable for maintenance and support of electronic security systems.

• Accountable for all safety and quality installations on all sites.

• Responsible for providing the bill of materials for all electronic security related solutions, i.e., tenders and quotes.

• Deliver against service level agreements (SLAs) ensuring alignment to set targets and performance criteria.

• Accountable for managing end-to-end calls.

• Responsible for third-line support.

• Supervision of technical staff and related activities.

• Accountable for identifying new trends, solutions and standards within the electronic solutions field.

• Establish standards for the equipment and systems to be implemented and operated.

• Ensure equipment designs are in line with the established standards and specifications.

• Ensure installation standards are aligned to benchmarks/best practice.

• Ensure recommendations for improvements are implemented.

• Investigate complaints and ensure corrective action is taken timeously.

• Ensure that all escalated issues are resolved timeously.

Candidate:

• National senior certificate (Grade 12).

• National higher diploma or equivalent.

• PSIRA (minimum Grade A).

• Project management certiicate.

• Electronic security OEM certificates.

• Safety certificates which include health and safety, working at heights, hazard identification and risk assessment.

• Must have at least 6 years’ experience in similar senior role.

• Must have at least 6 years’ experience in design of CCTV and access control.

• Good understanding of networking and equipment fundamentals (Ethernet, cabling standards, TCP/IP).

• Good understanding of desktop operating systems.

• Experience supporting network equipment and operating systems.

• Must have knowledge on Microsoft Visio or similar.
