Responsibility:

• Perform service and installation of Access control, Intrusion Alarm, CCTV and Fire Detection systems.

• Inspect installation sites and study orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine materials requirements and installation procedures have been met.

• Complete all wiring, connections and equipment installations, ensuring that all security systems are complete and satisfy customer and contractual requirements.

• Coordinate with Management and other trades for completing projects efficiently.

• Configure and program relevant electronic systems.

• Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure proper functionality and that the system meets customer and company requirements.

• Conduct ongoing system checks to ensure all systems are in working order.

• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on faulty systems.

• Maintain and adhere to operational procedures and complete appropriate documentation.

• Be responsible for assigned tools, plant and test equipment.

• Liaise with clients, management and colleagues to ensure smooth running of all operations.

• Demonstrate a high level of customer service.

• Promote, build and maintain good customer relations and assists with contract retention.

• Ensure that all installation and service standards are followed at all times.

• Constantly communicate with customers regarding status, progress and resolution of all assigned duties.

• Properly document installations both internally and externally (site visit reports, acceptance forms, job cards, etc.).

Candidate:

• Strong Computer Skills.

• Competence in low-voltage electrical systems.

• Proven experience in security systems installation, commissioning and maintenance.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a technician installing, commissioning and maintaining IP surveillance, access control and intercom systems.

• Minimum 5 years’ ongoing experience working on security systems such as Impro, Softcon, Hikvision, Avigilon, Risco and various Fire Panels, as well as SCADA. Certification on these systems is a significant advantage.

• Must have good understanding and experience of general IT skills/tasks (computers and networking). Relevant database (specifically Microsoft SQL) knowledge would be advantageous.

• Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding/repair skills

• No criminal record.

• PSIRA (minimum Grade E).

• Maintain a clean and functional Vehicle and have a Valid Driver’s Licence.
